It looks like Karan Johar is getting ready to pour another cup of Koffee, and Salman Khan could reportedly be the first celebrity on the couch.
Koffee With Karan appears to be heading back for Season 9, after Johar recently addressed the future of his popular celebrity talk show.
When asked about another season, Johar responded, “Yes, Season 9, Diwali.”
While there has not been an official announcement revealing an exact premiere date just yet, hearing the confirmation directly from Johar certainly makes it sound like fans can expect the show to return around Diwali.
And there is already a major name being rumored for the first episode: Salman Khan.
Salman has appeared on Koffee With Karan before, but his potential Season 9 appearance could be a little different. According to the current rumors, the Bollywood star could appear by himself this time rather than sharing the couch with family members.
If true, Salman would certainly be a big way to kick off a new season.
Part of what has made Koffee With Karan so entertaining over the years is Johar’s ability to have conversations with celebrities that can feel very different from a typical promotional interview. His relationships within the industry often allow him to ask questions others might not be able to, which means the guest list can make a huge difference.
Salman Khan would be a strong start, but the bigger question is who else could end up on that famous couch.
Will Season 9 stick primarily to Bollywood stars? Could Johar bring in more actors from South Indian cinema? What about Hollywood stars or even influencers?
For now, we will have to wait and see.
The new season is expected to stream on JioHotstar and Hulu, although additional details surrounding the return have yet to be officially announced.
Between Johar teasing a Diwali return and reports of Salman potentially opening the season, there is already plenty to get Koffee With Karan fans talking.
