Awarapan 2 is off to a strong start at the global box office, earning an estimated ₹120.86 crore (about ₹1.2 billion) worldwide during its opening weekend, according to figures shared by the film's press team.
The Emraan Hashmi-led sequel collected ₹84.31 crore net in India over its first three days, while its overseas earnings were estimated at $1.9 million (approximately ₹18 crore). The film's worldwide gross currently stands at ₹120.86 crore.
A Strong Opening Weekend
Awarapan 2 opened in Indian cinemas on Independence Day, August 15, with ₹23.40 crore at the domestic box office. Collections increased to ₹34.09 crore on Day 2, before reaching ₹26.82 crore on Day 3.
The three-day total makes Awarapan 2 the third-highest opening weekend of 2026, according to the film's press release.
The movie has also recorded the fourth-highest Independence Day weekend collection of the past decade (2015–2025), highlighting the strong response it has received from audiences in India and international markets.
Emraan Hashmi Returns as Shivam Pandit
The film marks Emraan Hashmi's return as Shivam Pandit, the character he first played in the Awarapan franchise. The press release describes the response to the character and the world of Awarapan 2 as a strong comeback for the actor.
Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui and Vishesh Bhatt. The cast also includes Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Puran Gabbi, Suvinder Vicky and Aniruddh Rawal.
